Department of botany came into existence in July, 2013 with a view to prepare the students desirous of learning, understanding, teaching and practicing various aspects of plant science. The department is proud of having produced eminent scholars, doctors, scientists who occupy high positions within and outside the country.

Objective

1. To provide the finest opportunities and environment for teaching, learning and research in various of plant science.
2. Increase the employability of the maximum number of students by arranging the campus interview.
3. Provide the opportunities of higher education for up liftment and empowerment.

1. Disseminate the knowledge on plants and their utility to the society.
2. To develop feasible strategies in plant sciences for obtaining sustainable benefits from them.

Eligibility

Under Graduate:

A candidate who has passed Higher Secondary Examination in Academic or vocational stream with Biology (Botany/Zoology) under higher secondary board of examination, Tamil Nadu or an examination accepted as Equivalent thereto.

Post Graduate:

A candidate who has passed B.Sc. degree in Botany or Botany Vocational Biotechnology.
